What got you into Healthcare and how many years have you been in the industry?
My dad started his own company selling medical devices and my natural instinct was to take over his company and work in the healthcare field. After starting my Engineering Degree at Clemson University, I realized that while I had a passion for the healthcare industry, I also had the drive to want to be a builder. After graduating with a Civil Engineering degree and starting my career as a General Contractor, my first assignment was a ground up hospital project, and I’ve loved being a part of healthcare construction never since.
What’s your job/role and what is your favorite aspect of your job?
What I love most about my job is the people I get to work with day in and day out. Construction is an exciting field where you get to work with folks from all walks of life. I particularly enjoy the healthcare field and working with the care givers and hospital staff. There’s an extra level of passion and drive when you know you’re work is bettering the communities we live in and where we receive care. These healthcare facilities are where we have our babies, where lives are saved, where cutting-edge technology can change the life of our loved ones, and it is truly an honor to be a part of constructing and renovating these facilities.
What prompted you to get involved with Women In Healthcare?
I love that we are able to bring this organization to South Carolina to connect and empower healthcare industry professionals with camaraderie, education, and mentorship. I’ve always searched for an organization where I could find a mentor that I connect with on both a professional and personal level, and I love that this group offers an opportunity to do that as well as also give back to the up and comers in the industry.
What do you love to do in your spare time? What’s your non-work passion project?
I’m a mom to a giggly, active toddler and I love finding opportunities to spend time with her and my family, be it on the lake, at the park, or exploring all the fun activities Greenville has to offer. Along with my extended family, we are die-hard Clemson football fans and our fall revolves around going to the games and hosting watch parties. Work hard, play hard, and go tigers!

What got you into Healthcare and how many years have you been in the industry?
I have been working in healthcare design and facilities for the last 25 years. 10 of which was spent forking for major hospital systems in NC and SC. The remaining time spent in design in architectural firms.
What’s your job/role and what is your favorite aspect of your job?
I currently lead the LS3P Greenville office as the Healthcare Sector leader. The favorite part of this position is touching base with different HC systems and clinics to see how we can best support their needs through design. I also love supporting my team and seeing them shine.
What prompted you to get involved with Women In Healthcare?
Over my career I have been extremely fortunate to have had great female mentors. I am at a place in my career where I desire a strong mentor group from all levels of expertise as well as affording myself to be a mentor to someone else and repay the kindness that was shown to me.
What do you love to do in your spare time?
What’s your non-work passion project (if you have one)? When I have spare time I enjoy nature and a nice walk around a lake or in a kayak. My non-work passion is working with young ladies through Girl Scouts. I have been a leader for over 10 years and I love seeing young girls/ladies achieve goals and overcome fears to develop into the next generation of leaders.

What got you into Healthcare and how many years have you been in the industry?
I fell into healthcare immediately after graduation KY. I took an intern ship with an A&D firm that was at the grass roots of de-centralizing healthcare services into the MOB. From there I moved to GA and took a facilities planning design position for 5 schools of medicine. When I move to SC I spent the remaining part of my design career working for an architectural firm that focused on Healthcare. So 10 years behind the boards and 20 years working on the manufacturing side of the industry in flooring. It’s now been 5 years on the service side of the industry, much of which is healthcare related business.
What’s your job/role and what is your favorite aspect of your job?
I’ve had time to reflect on this after 35 years in the business … I love to solve customers problems. There is always a solution and all that goes with helping a customer meet their business objectives.
What prompted you to get involved with Women In Healthcare?
My relationship with a long time friend, Tracey Mcgee. We worked together early in our careers and she knows I have a soft spot for the industry since I’ve seen all angles of the market segment.
What’s your non-work passion project?
Still trying to figure that one out. Really trying to give myself permission to find space in my day and weeks to just “be. I thoroughly enjoy my pilates and yoga. It forces me to slow down. Cooking has been a nice creative outlet. Making bread and canning. I didn’t know I could do any of this ?!
